Disney Book Tag (potential spoilers)

Once again, I thank Jacquelyn for helping me choose which tag to do :)

The Disney Book Tag

The Little Mermaid
A book with a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”

For this one I want to say 'any main character from a dystopian YA novel', because they all seem to come from poor backgrounds, but I'm going to go with All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. The reason I picked this is because one of the main character, Marie-Laure, who is blind, is clearly out of her depth when her father takes her to her great-uncles home, where she no longer knows the way around.

Cinderella

A book with a character who goes through a major transformation

I think I want to cheat with this one and say The Infernal Devices trilogy, what with Tessa being able to shapeshift and all :p Pretty big transformations.

Snow White

A book with an eclectic cast of characters

Hhhhhmmmmm a book with a really diverse set of characters... Might go with The Night Circus, as they are all in a circus, and everyone has very different talents, even if I couldn't really distinguish their personalities too much. If not these characters, then the characters from Pretty Little Liars, because the four girls are completely different with different hobbies and traits.

Sleeping Beauty

A book that put you to sleep

City of Glass... I'm sorry to those who like this, but I didn't enjoy it at all. Think I gave it 2 stars... I found it super duper boring and just didn't hold my attention at all. Probably because I hate Clary so much. Yeah the events might have been interesting, but I just hated constantly reading about Clary's frustrating personality and her 'relationship' with Jace. Over that shit.

The Lion King

A book with a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood

Easily picked this one. A Series of Unfortunate Events... No explanation needed.

Beauty and the Beast
A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful

Frustrating because I'm about to embark on a journey to adult fantasy (eg Brandon Sanderson, Game of Thrones, Patrick Rothfuss) so I wish I'd read at least one of those first, because I feel like they'd fit the bill... But seeing as I haven't read those yet, I'll have to say Empire of Storms, or like any after the third Throne of Glass book. As I mentioned in a previous tag, I loved this book, and everything that happens in it.

Aladdin

A book with a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

Going to go with Pretty Little Liars series, because when Alison disappears it's almost as if the girls are pleased she's gone, and they'd thought about her disappearing before, but now she's gone they don't know what to think.

Mulan

A book with a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not

Alright easy pick for me. Maven from Red Queen fits this one nicely, what with him turning out super bad and all. That surprised me.

Toy Story

A book with characters you wish would come to life

Oh wow uhhhhhh this is a tricky one! I hate questions like this :p Oh I know! The suitors from the last two Selection books :D

Disney Descendants

A book with my favorite villain or morally ambiguous character

I thought I didn't know the answer to this one, buuuut I do :p Joffrey from Game of Thrones. Don't ask me why I like him so much, I just always have and always will.

Comments

  1. Nice post! I have a copy of all the said books but unfortunately, I haven't read them yet because I don't feel like reading them for now. :) I'll try to do this tag too.

My Books (and rages about them)

So I just wanted to introduce you guys to my bookshelves :D Sadly they aren't with me at the moment, as they're up at my parents' place, which I recently moved out of. So I'll just look at these when I miss them. I know this one's blurry (didn't realise at the time). I was going to make this post yesterday, but it was raining at my parents', so it was too dark to properly see all of the books. As you can see, I have a looooot, I think around 500-600. And I also recently just got rid of the box of books yesterday, when I spent a few hours reorganising and tidying these shelves. I hate running out of room for books :( Also these shelves are double-stacked... I chose to hide the ugly ones (the second-hand ones I bought from the library for like 50c XD) This was the shelf that I was having real trouble with (as it faces away from the window) but I think I got there. I can't believe I even now have gaps in my shelves due to saying goodbye to some of my b...

Welcome to me!

Hi guys :) So this is the equivalent of a BookTube channel. :p I really wanted to make one, but was way too freaked about the cameras, so here I am. I know it's really not the same, but I'm definitely more myself through typing rather than through camera, and I wanted to do something like this. So yeah, my name's Maddie, and welcome to my blog :) I have no idea how often I'll make posts, but I'll try to put up book reviews, and I'll definitely be doing book tags, as the BookTubers do :p Probably once a day :p I might even run out of book tags haha. So a little about me: I'm from New Zealand (or the future, as many people say), home of Lord of the Rings and Narnia.  I'm 19 and love reading, as well as listening to music (pop and classical) and wasting time on Goodreads :p I also feel like I waste time (and money) at university, but hey, can't spend my whole life doing what I love :p I am a hoarder. That is a fact. I have my own personal library...

Book Cake Book Tag

After a little bit of debate (and decision-making with my friend Jacquelyn), I've decided to do the Book Cake Tag as my first tag! :D This is technically making a cake out of books, so we're using books as the ingredients of the cake. Ingredient One: Flour Represents a book that starts off slow but really speeds up. My 'flour' book would have to be Ready Player One. I didn't really know what to expect when I read this book, except that I knew I wanted to read it due to a lot of hype around it on Goodreads in one of my challenges. So I gave it a shot, and holy moly it is incredible!! The world-building and explanations and descriptions at the start were a little hard to pay attention to, but then it took off straight away. The themes in it, the action and suspense and the plot twists (and these are real plot twists, not YA plot twists!) were just unreal. There's also a movie coming out soon, not too sure how I feel about it. I know so many people who co...
